The doctor is in! The Black Death, or more commonly known as the bubonic plague, devastated Europe in the 14th century. As a response to large death counts and economic consequences, plague doctors were deployed to affected communities and were allowed special privileges such as conducting autopsies for science purposes.
Due to demand, however, not all plague doctors are well-qualified.
Some are unsuccessful doctors. Some are fresh graduates looking to get their foot in the door.
Some are even not in the medical field at all!
